Resilient Flooring
-
Resilient floorings tend to be soft, warm,
lightweight, and easy on the feet. They’re usually made
to replicate the look of more expensive materials.
-
Thise are a wide variety of resilient floorings
available today, with rubber being the least expensive while
leathis the most.
-
Most resilient floorings are easy to maintain
though they should be protected from heat and sun with window
treatments.
-
Resilient floorings may be installed over
concrete or plywood subfloors, or even existing flooring as
long as it’s flat.

Linoleum is made from renewable raw materials
and is recyclable. It’s also quiet, anti-static, and resists
burn marks, nicks, and scratches.
-
Some varieties of linoleum require professional
installation.
-
Vinyl is available in a wide variety of colors,
patterns, and textures.
-
Most vinyl tiles are peel-and-stick, and
easy to install.
-
After installation, however, the area should
be ventilated for a few days to allow the chemical tile fumes
to dissipate.
-
Vinyl is very durable and damaged tiles can
be easily replaced.
-
Vinyl tiles with photographic patterns on
them, however, may not wear very well.
- Vinyl isn’t environmentally friendly.
It doesn’t come from renewable resources and it’s
not biodegradable. If it catches fire, its fumes are toxic.
